Victoria’s Native Vegetation Management Framework established “net gain” as the planning objective for native vegetation management in the State. The framework requires a reversal, across the entire landscape, of the long-term decline in the extent and quality of native vegetation, leading to net gain. Where vegetation loss cannot be avoided due to socio-economic drivers, permit applicants need to either generate offsets on their own property or obtain ‘credits’ by securing offsets on other properties.

Mount Rothwell retains and protects a number of very high conservation significance remnant vegetation classes to meet the offset requirements of a range of government and private sector organisations. Mount Rothwell has completed a number of offset trades through the Bushbroker program, so has a thorough understanding of the trade process and client requirements.  An onsite, professional management team ensures vegetation is managed to the highest standards.
